Optimize your LinkedIn profile: a free score in one minute
Paste your profile URL. We tell you its score, the two things costing you the most and, if you want, email you the full report with 3 headline ideas.
The 7 points that weigh most
- Banner with your offer
- Photo, face at 80%
- Headline with a result
- Custom button
- About with numbers
- Featured with a calendar
- 30 to 50 skills
What the tool looks at
It reads your public profile and compares it against 15 points that separate a profile that starts conversations from one that just exists: photo, banner, headline, About, Featured, experience, skills, activity and URL. Each point is weighted by how much it affects whether someone accepts your invitation or messages you. The score comes from that, not from an opinion: the same profile always gets the same score.
The checklist, point by point
01
Profile photo
Professional, well lit, with your face filling most of the frame. Your brand colours in the background help. Recommended size: 400 × 400 px or more.
02
Banner
It isn't decoration: it's the first ad for what you do. Your offer, some social proof and no questions. It's 1584 × 396 px and your photo covers the bottom-left corner.
03
Headline
Plain, short and direct: who you help and what you achieve. Your job title alone isn't enough, because it's all people see in an invitation or a comment.
04
About
Around 2,000 characters: your story, what you do and for whom, results with numbers and, at the end, how to reach you. Short paragraphs that read well on mobile.
05
Featured
Send traffic where it matters: your website, your newsletter or a calendar. 1920 × 1080 px images look good on every screen.
06
Custom button
Set it up from the pencil icon on your profile; it shows under your headline. Pick the call to action and add the URL you want people to go to.
07
Experience
Remove what isn't related to your current focus, describe what is and add links where you have them.
08
Skills
You can add up to 50. Put the 2 most relevant at the top and ask for endorsements on those specifically.
What it doesn't look at
It doesn't judge whether your photo or banner look good, only whether they're there. It can't read what only your connections see either. The full report does comment on the content of your headline and About section, and suggests alternatives based on what your profile already says.
