Back to MCP for Claude
Guide
Connect and use Claude with Ploot
Everything you need to connect it, choose permissions and know what it can do.
Before you start
- You need a Ploot account with MCP enabled. During early access, the Ploot team turns it on.
- Once enabled, you'll see the MCP card in Settings, Integrations, with the address to copy.
- On Claude Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds the connector from the organization settings. Then each person clicks Connect with their own account.
Connect in Claude web or desktop
- In Claude, go to Customize and open Connectors.
- Click Add custom connector and paste the address from the MCP card.
- Click Connect and sign in with your Ploot account.
- Choose the permissions and authorize.
Connect in Claude Code
Run this command in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http ploot --scope user https://app.ploot.ai/api/mcp- Open /mcp in Claude Code, choose ploot and authorize with your Ploot account.
- When it finishes, the browser returns to a localhost address on your computer. That's normal: it's how Claude Code receives the authorization.
Which permissions to choose
- Read only is selected by default: Claude can look things up, but can't change anything or prepare actions.
- Read and drafts also lets it create drafts and prepare actions for you to confirm.
- To change permissions, disconnect and connect again.
What you can ask
- Show me the pending leads that best fit my ICP.
- Who in this campaign hasn't received a message yet?
- Summarize my campaign results over the last 30 days.
- Which of my posts worked best this quarter?
- Write a post draft from this idea.
- If you manage a team: show me the pending leads of someone else in my company.
What is confirmed in Ploot
Claude gives you a link to a Ploot page that shows what will happen. Nothing happens until you confirm. The link is single-use, only works for you, expires after 15 minutes and stops working if the data changes.
- Accepting leads, including to recover a rejected one. They may enter an active campaign, which will start writing to them, and use enrichment credits.
- Rejecting leads already in a list or campaign.
- Removing leads from a campaign. They don't re-enter it.
- Starting or resuming a campaign.
- Scheduling a post or attaching an image to it.
What it can do without confirmation
Only with the Read and drafts permission. We notify you in the app when it pauses a campaign or rejects a lead.
- Create and edit post and campaign drafts, without sending or publishing anything.
- Pause a campaign, up to 5 a day per account.
- Reject a pending lead with no list or campaign, up to 100 a day per account.
- Discard a post idea, up to 20 a day per account.
What data Claude receives
- Name, role, company, industry, signals, score and stage of your leads.
- Campaign results, and your posts, drafts and ideas.
- It doesn't receive emails, phone numbers or the text of your conversations.
- That data reaches Claude inside your conversation, so it's handled under your Claude account terms. If you have other connectors enabled, Claude can combine them.
Disconnect
- In Settings, Integrations, click Disconnect on the MCP card. This cuts access for every assistant connected to your account.
- Changing, resetting or creating your password also cuts connections. To keep using it, connect again.
If something isn't working
- I can't see the MCP card: your account doesn't have it enabled yet, or you're viewing someone else's profile. Go back to your profile or write to your Ploot contact.
- Claude lost access: connect again. It may have been disconnected, or you changed your password.
- The confirmation link doesn't work: it expired, was already used or the data changed. Ask Claude to prepare it again.
- It says the account has no prospecting: if you manage a team, ask it to use someone else's account. Observer accounts have no leads of their own.
- It says a limit was reached: wait a minute, or until the next day for a daily maximum. Rejections can still be done with confirmation in Ploot.
- Still not working: write to your Ploot contact and tell them what you asked Claude and when.
